Every time I share a picture of my coffee sign on IG, I get a lot of questions in regards to where it can be purchased. It is actually a fun and super easy DIY project! I thought I would share it with you all here. My DIY framed coffee sign makes a gorgeous addition to any kitchen or coffee station!
What You’ll Need:
- Mirrored picture frame (you can use the size of your choice)
- Silver paint if the frame has a mat you’d like to paint
- Paintbrush or sponge brush
- Printer for printing my free sign I created for you
The Process
If you are painting a mat silver like I did, this is where you will start. Remove the mat from the frame and place it on newspapers, paper towels, or other protective surface. Start painting one thin layer of silver paint with your sponge brush or other paint brush. You will likely need to paint several coats before the mat looks completely covered. Just make sure to let each coat dry several minutes before applying a new one. Applying the paint too thick or not allowing it to dry in between coats will mess up your mat.
Once your mat is completely coated and looks good, let it dry at least 24 hours. In the meantime, you are ready to print the free printable sign I created for you below. You should be able to adjust the size before printing according to the size of frame you end up finding (almost any sized frame will work). In case you were wondering, the frame I used is 11″ x 14″, matted to an 8″ x 10″ opening.
When you are sure your mat is completely dry, you can put everything back in the frame and display your beautiful new decor in your home!
I hope you enjoy! I’d love to see your projects if you decide to create your own DIY framed coffee sign. Please share them with me! And always feel free to leave any questions or comments below.
