Do you remember what this small closet space used to look like? It wasn’t very pretty, but with the help of Walmart Home, I was able to create a beautiful, organized guest room closet! Today, I want to share everything I did here, hoping it’s helpful for anyone thinking about creating their own little organized space.

WalMart – Wow and Now Section
Before I go any further, I want to mention Walmart’s new Wow and Now section. Wow and Now will feature trendy, fun items at great price points. Categories include home decor, storage, kitchen, bath, and more. Wow and Now will be starting July 19th in select stores and online. The storage baskets I used are just a few of the many items featured in this new and exciting section at Walmart!
Linen Closet – Before
If you’ve followed me for awhile, you might remember what this space looked like a few years ago. Everything kind of got shoved in here wherever it would fit. I ended up organizing it about 2 years ago and it looked better, but still needed some improvement (see below).
The Plan
Since this closet is directly across from the guest bedroom and since traveling/hosting is finally a thing again, I decided to create a fun and welcoming “guest closet”. You could do something similar in a guest bathroom or wherever there is extra cabinet space for anyone you want to welcome into your home (also perfect for vacation rentals, etc.).
Starting Out
First, I emptied the closet one shelf at a time. Next, it was time to remove all of the shelves and wipe them down. Then, I applied the peel-and-stick paper I used to line them with (link to the peel-and-stick paper and everything else can be found below).

You can shop any of the items by clicking on their image below.
After I lined the shelves, I decided to use the leftover peel-and-stick wallpaper on the back of the closet wall. I placed the shelves back in the closet and then added remote-controlled puck lights to brighten it up a bit.
Organizing the Shelves
The white shelf organizers I found at Walmart are a perfect way to add a little more height and storage room to this small space. They allowed me to stack a few extra baskets in the closet.
Next, I played around with the baskets until I was happy with how they were situated. I added all of the guest room essentials and figured out what labels I needed for each basket (label clips and other links can be found above under “shop the products”). For the labels, I typed them on my computer using a cute calligraphy font and then printed them out. Finally, a paper cutter was used to trim the labels down in order to fit them in the label clips.
Organized Guest Room Closet – Final Result
There is something about an organized space that feels so amazing! I am so happy I had the opportunity to partner with Walmart in creating this organized linen closet perfect for guests. I absolutely love how it turned out! Let me know what you think!
