I have mentioned before that bedrooms are one of my absolute favorite rooms to design and decorate. I was recently playing around with a few glam bedroom designs and decided to share a couple of the rooms I created for two different budgets.

Budgets for Bedrooms
I get asked a lot about budgets when it comes to designing/decorating a bedroom. To be honest, it is so difficult to give an average budget because it really depends on the look/style one is going for. The size of the room will affect the budget, too. A larger room will usually mean more furniture pieces and extra wall decor. If someone with an average-sized master bedroom (around 300 square feet) is planning to purchase all new furniture, I feel that somewhere between a $5,000 – $6,000 budget is probably a safe minimum (without any design fees). That doesn’t mean, however, that a nice bedroom can’t be designed for less. I’m going to give you two examples of glam bedroom designs for completely different budgets.
Bedroom Design #1
Glam Bedroom #1 is based on a $6,000 budget. This budget allows for a little more to be spent on nice statement lighting, a high-quality rug, larger nightstands, etc. Overall, you should expect the pieces to be fairly durable and of good quality at this price point. Please keep in mind that there will likely be a few more charges, especially if you are planning an accent wall, updating paint colors or flooring, and/or adding other accent pieces not included in this design, such as wall art, mirrors, etc. The pricing spreadsheet is included below for reference (prices and availability subject to change).
Bedroom Design #2
Glam Bedroom #2 is based on a $3,000 budget. That’s half of what would be spent for the first bedroom. The furniture/accessories are still nice and look good, but might be a little lesser in quality than the pieces in the first bedroom design. Again, additional charges are likely for any room upgrades and accessories not included in this design. Please refer to the pricing spreadsheet below to see a breakdown of costs for this bedroom (pricing and availability subject to change).
Design Tip
Before designing your bedroom or any other room in your home, I highly recommend searching Pinterest, Instagram, etc. to find a few inspiration photos of rooms you absolutely love. You can then look online for similar, shoppable items within your budget and create a mood board or collage of things you’d like to include in your room, such as specific colors, textures, furniture pieces, hardware, lighting, etc. There are tons of free programs to use for this. Just Google “free apps for mood boards” to find a program you like. Doing this will help you to see how everything looks all together and then you can decide if you want to make any changes. I do this every time I am working on updating a space in my home. See my laundry room mood board below as an example.
There you have it! Two different glam bedroom designs based on two different budgets. Hopefully this helps to demonstrate that just because your budget might be less, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a beautiful bedroom! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below.
